The Rules
Read at your own risk. Here are the ten commandments that Hype Revolt swears by. No compromises, no apologies, and definitely no B.S.
-
Trial by Fire: This isn’t an earphone charity. Every IEM gets shoved into the furnace of my criticism. Some come out as forged steel, others as molten messes. Sugarcoating, half-truths and unearned approval are forbidden.
-
No Corporate Leash: In a world of sellouts, here’s a revelation: I use my own damn cash. My money’s where my mouth is.
-
Disclosure Or Bust: If the review is for a product I obtained for free, I’ll tell you right away. Don’t trust easily? Neither do I. That’s why every review has an obnoxiously clear disclaimer at the start so you know the score.
-
Sound Quality Is King: Their brand legacy? A fairy tale. Celebrity/reviewer backing? A joke. Here, it’s the audio that sits on the throne. It will always be that way.
-
Screw The Graphs, Trust The Ears: Stop worshiping frequency response graphs like they’re holy relics. Ears are the real sanctuary of sound, and mine are not easily pleased.
-
Nothing’s Untouchable: Don’t care how many positive unboxing videos or reviews you’ve seen of a particular IEM in the past. If a product sucks, it’s getting treated as such.
-
Tough On Sellers: Vendors get no love from me until they prove they’re worth your time and money. No slack cut. No punches pulled. Nobody gets a free pass.
-
Anti-Ad, Pro-Truth: Zero ads, zero propaganda and zero selling my soul for a buck. Just one affiliate link that you’ll see in every review. Fuck shills.
-
Total Transparency: Every issue, I’m putting it all out there. An IEM has QA issues? Shoddy build quality? Pay-for-praise campaigns? I’ll shout it from the rooftops.
-
Take It As You Will: I care about getting to the heart of the matter in every review, guide and opinion piece I offer. Whether you agree or disagree is your own affair and responsibility.
